In honor of last night
by
I have a minor headache this morning. If you have never enjoyed a mimosa, maybe this weekend would be a good time to experiment! Mimosas mix champagne (or sparkling wine) in equal measure with orange juice (or grapefruit juice.) They are mildly deadly. Keep in mind when choosing champagne that brut is dry (and for me, the drier the champagne the worse the headache!) Spumante is very sweet — really too sweet to mix with juice!
Cheers!

I learned about mimosas the hard way. I joined my parents for a very posh Thanksgiving Day luncheon that they paid an arm and a leg for us to attend, and they only liquor they served was mimosas.
Within an hour, I was too drunk to make it to the buffet table. I was MORTIFIED.

Well, you’re better than I am. I usually only put 1/3 to 1/4 OJ and the rest sparkling wine. And I like drier ones since the juice is already sweet.

The beauty of mimosas, of course, is it’s hard to get it wrong. They seem to always turn out good! (Like bloody mary’s?)

I’ve never ever tried a mimosa, and I’m shocked I seem to be missing out. Maybe it’s a girl’s drink?!

I’ve found, Dave, that “girls’ drinks” are often called that because they are easier to drink and FAR more alcoholic than beer.
