Carnival of the Recipes #124
Well, we tried to make it "I Hate to Cook," but things didn't quite work out as hoped. Whatdaheck -- there are still some great recipes to try here!
Many thanks to Gillian and Maureen for their spot-on contributions!
We'll try the I Hate to Cook theme again another time, say what?
I HATE TO COOK:
I know I already submitted something rather irrelevant, but your topic called out to me in a large voice and I did a new posting. Gillian Polack presents Non-cooks have food history too: from street cries to baked eggs posted at Food History.
Since the theme of this week’s Carnival of the Recipes is easy/hate-to-cook recipes, I thought I’d post my SIL’s Microwaveable Lemon Curd recipe. Lemon curd is pretty easy to make anyway, but this is the sooper-dooper easy version, for the very laziest of cooks.Christine presents Microwave Lemon Curd posted at Morning Coffee & Afternoon Tea.
NO TIME TO COOK:
Maureen presents Trinity Prep School - Easy French Onion Soup posted at Trinity Prep School. Impressive for dinner parties……don’t admit how easy it is to make!
I LOVE TO COOK
Loni presents Joy in the Morning. This is a holiday favorite and special for birthdays as well, and has been a family tradition as long as I can remember.

New Year’s Eve dinner was an international affair with Hot and Sour Soup, Morrocan Lamb, potatoes fried in duck fat, and white aparagus. We didn’t have room for dessert which was supposed to be a simplification of Hog On Ice’s brownies with cinnamon ice cream.
Julie Bonner presents Chocolate Chess Pie posted at Chocolate Recipes I Love.
Lisa Knight presents Cashew Chicken posted at Lisa’s Cookbook. She says; “This is my new favorite recipe!!! ”
Sue presents Vegetable and Nut Cobbler posted at Random Recipes.

Lemon Ricotta-Almond Cake
Gillian Polack presents Did the pork pie really kill Uncle Bob? posted at Food History. There are really 3 URLs. The one listed is the one with the story and here’s the one with the recipe: http://www.foodpast.com/chanukah-8-the-pork-pie-that-killed-uncle-bob/#respond People need fun stories about death and destruction from time to time. Either that or they need a reason to get angry at me…

Michele presents a Scots meal
Baked Potato Soup recipe is here and it was yummmmmmmmmmmy

From Lookin’ at Cookin’ There is a vast difference between prepared commercial mayonnaise and homemade mayonnaise. Even a mayo-hater might be turned into a fan after trying a good homemade mayonnaise.
Hello-
I’d like to submit this for the next carnival
Thanks.

Kelly Hoffman presents Raw Salad…Broccoli Cranberry Surprise Recipe posted at Natural Health Girl. she says: “I’m trying to eat more raw food, and I had to bring a salad to my mom and dad’s for Christmas Eve, so I came up with Broccoli Cranberry Surprise! It turned out great, and I decided it is a keeper! ”
At everything and Nothing, our Carnival Leader presents Frozen Berries with White Hot Chocolate. Since the fresh berries are hard to get right now, I’m going to try this with frozen-from-the-store and see how they come out!
Hi, I’d like to submit
Thanks, Riannan
cehwiedel presents Hungarian Beef Stew - New Recipe Posted posted at Kneadle Work. Starting a month of warming soups and stews, here’s a stew recipe tweaked from a foodie magazine to make it wheat-free.
rightwingprof presents January Barbecue posted at Right Wing Nation. This one was interesting because we’re all fans of the variety of bar-b-q here! Thing about AZ barbecue — it seems to be just slow-cooked meat with nothing on it!
Joe Donnachie presents Video Recipe for Meatballs posted at ChuckleTube - Celebrating the Laughter of Delight.
Next week’s Carnival will be hosted by New Hampshire State of Mind Submit your favorite recipes to recipe.carnival@gmail.com by noon CST on Saturday. If you’re interested in hosting a future carnival send a message to the same address with the word “host” in the subject line.

The problem with recipes for non-cooks or lazy cooks is that they are perfect for hot summer days. Which is what it is here, right now. I am checking the recipes against my pantry and wondering which to make first :).

I cannot click through to any of the recipes. I get an annoying pop-up ad when my cursor rolls over a link. If I persist and click, a Think Local page appears.
